Welcome to Creative Connections!
Creative Connections was born out of a group of my friends gathering together to make cards. We put our love for our family and friends into action by making cards for all occasions to celebrate the events of our lives.
Male theme cards can be a challenge. I have had these papers for a long time, so I can't tell you who the DP is from. I used Birthday Cakes cartridge for the sentiment. scroll, and year.
I had a little less than two hours to put these cards together. I love these designs! Which stamp set to order is the decision....hmmm...I want them all!
We had so much fun at 9 East Coffee celebrating my birthday! Owner Brenda Myers picked up on the day and crowned me and gave me some delicious strawberry pie. Deb Hartman, Kathy Knodle, Gerry Reed, and I had some crazy laughs that afternoon!
I attended a Stampin' Up Christmas workshop on 9/25 and came home with a wonderful collection of cards for my upcoming workshops. I decided to become a SU consultant because I was frustrated by paper, ribbon, ink, markers, etc. that don't match when designing cards. SU to the rescue! Here are the cards...let me know which ones you like, so I can order stamp sets so we can make these awesome cards!
My granddaughter Isabelle Millward turned 4 in May! She is a doll and wanted a 'Princess' birthday so I had to make her this Birthday Princess card from the Birthday Cakes cartridge from Cricut Cake.
My in-laws, Delmonte and Norma Kinnney celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on February 12. What a milestone to experience with family all around. I made a card with the diamond theme which is the 60th anniversary theme. Silhouette die cut machine was used for the butterflies, scroll frame, and the lettering.
Dell and I had planned a trip out West for July 26-August 5. We invited Dell's parents to come with and we had a wonderful trip. This is a picture of the castle at Glen Eyriebegan as the estate of William Jackson Palmer, founder of several railroads and the city of Colorado Springs. This was Dell's 10th trip to Glen Eyrie, which means "the Eagles' Nest". There has been an eagle's nest at Glen Eyrie for about 100 years. We also saw big horned sheep. Such an amazing creature!
I learned a new technique from Splitcoaststampers called the recessed card. It's simple but makes a neat card, tutorial here. My son Nate is marrying Kwynn Shianna on October 10, 2009 and she has three bridal showers so I am making her cards for each one. Once the square area was recessed I felt I needed to add some pearls to the edge. The wedding colors are black, white, and with a brilliant blue which is why the card is black and white.
I offered to make wedding bouquets and boutonierres for our friends' wedding on July 25. The bride gave me garlands of flowers from a previous wedding. I was able to make 20 floral ring centerpieces to go around a cylinder vase with votive candles. I was happy to find out she really liked the designs. Congratulations to Ellen & Huey!
My mother's flowers - Alums, the large purple flowering ball are such a dramatic flower. I never developed the green thumb my mom has. She has many other varieties but I think these might be her favorite. She can grow just about anything!
